Last year was an amazing year for local snowkiters. It was wonderful to see so many new faces travel from all over the world to snowkiting here in Idaho. For years, I have been able to identify who is kiting by the color and brand of their kite. Last year was different, it became apparent that the word is out! Kite Soldiers 2008 was a huge success and we are currently gearing up for Kite Soldiers 2009. Dates are Feb 20th-22nd. Details to follow, stay tuned.
For now:
This years Kite Soldiers is a three day celebration, showcasing several events that aspire to reflect the current state of affairs in this constantly evolving sport called Snowkiting. This years event will have the first EVER Kite Poker Run….Idaho’s first terrain park…. “Huck a Bus”…..raffles……prizes….. a Downwind Shuttle Bus…..welcome party….awards party and lots of snowkiting. Last year, Kite Soldiers woke up this small ski town, this year we are taking over!
For now, the snow is falling in the backcounty. We have had several storms grace us with snow in the past few weeks. Temps are not cold enough to sustain our obsession yet. I'm looking forward to an amazing snowkite season in the Mountains of Idaho. My name is Monty. If your in the area, please say hi. If your thinking about trying this exciting new sport or have questions that are not answered on this site, contact me.

I have purchased a small kite a stylus P.4 about 115" wing span. It drags me around but don't know how it really works yet.
