This place is looking more like the moon every day. The storms are rolling through one at a time. I am seeing many new kite faces on the scene this year. This video above was shot by Jclive Jordon and was taken a week ago before the storms started nailing us. I'm seeing wind blown features that are so big, I can barely kite over them. I'm referring to wind blown cornices that are 8 feet deep. Just because the snow is deep doesn't mean the fences are gone. Our avalanche danger is at an all time high this year. The storms just keep coming and coming. I wish I could update you on our current snowpack but I'm afraid that I cannot because the storms won't clear long enough for me to have a look around. I can assume that we have lots and lots of new snow and are looking VERY good for this years snowkite event. I've been out a few times and know that there is an awful lot of snow under my board. Clearing up tomorrow so stay tuned for some updated pictures from the Camas.

This blog is a long time coming. This area is amazing for snowkiting. Some might argue the best roadside snowkiting in the country and I wouldn't fight them on that point. Some things you might want to know before coming out to snowkite in Idaho.
Access is always an issue with snowkiting. We want to keep this sport alive, safe and fun. Roadside kiting is a luxury and also a hazard.
