The storms are rolling through one at a time. I am seeing many new kite faces on the scene this year. This video above was shot by Jclive Jordon and was taken a week ago before the storms started nailing us. I'm seeing wind blown features that are so big, I can barely kite over them. I'm referring to wind blown cornices that are 8 feet deep. Just because the snow is deep doesn't mean the fences are gone. Our avalanche danger is at an all time high this year. I'm seeing slides in areas that I would never expect it. I wish I could update you on our current snowpack but I'm afraid that I cannot because the storms won't clear long enough for me to have a look around. I can assume that we have lots and lots of new snow and are looking VERY good for this years snowkite event. I've been out a few times and know that there is an awful lot of snow under my board. This area is amazing for snowkiting. Some might argue the best roadside snowkiting in the country and I wouldn't fight them on that point. Some things you might want to know before coming out to snowkite in Idaho.<br /> Access is always an issue with snowkiting. We want to keep this sport alive, safe and fun.
